Political Zealot

Postby Cactus Jack on Sat Mar 06, 2010 9:41 pm

Hi everyone!

I've just started a new non-partisan political forum called Political Zealot and am looking to jumpstart it.

Am willing do do a post exchange with anyone with a similar or more general oriented forum as I struggle with forums in a very specific/techincal niche.

The good thing about political forums is everyone has an opinion about politics and at Political Zealot we do not discriminate on the basis of beliefs. I started the forum because I was tired of partisan political forums that banned people because they didn't agree with the political views of the majority. Good posters were lost and the forums suffered IMO.

Anyway, that's enough of an intro. Let me know if you'd like to do a post exchange, or feel free to just register and start a few threads or post in a few threads. At least I'll be there to chat with ya! :)

Thanks!
CJ

Looking into your forum. Will at least register, may or may not post right away.

If you have anything to say on my site, any suggestions to offer for it, etc. feel free. If not, that's fine too (though there is a general chat area as well). :)

Thanks for registering and posting! :)

Wow, this place actually worked.

Will get over to your forum a bit later and register and start posting. Got some guests here at the moment!

LOL well it can work, but as with any other form of exchange its ability to work is dependent on active members. Ironically, this forum itself could use a jump start. I'd have posted a bunch more here myself, but I've been having various troubles (see my forum for the illness related ones, PM me somewhere if you're interested in the rest of them...or if you're not interested, don't bother then I don't care lol).

I registered and started a thread on happiness but your forum deals with some very sensitive issues, some of which I have no business posting about.

I will continue to lurk and inject myself here and there where I can but I don't feel qualified to comment on many of the threads at the moment. They're very personal and heartfelt and I don't want to patronise anyone or come across as insensitive... will continue to lurk and watch...

That's perfectly fine - note I initially said to feel free if you had things to say/post. By no means was I or am I currently trying to pressure you into saying anything you don't want to or responding to anyone if you don't feel safe doing so. I saw that you had registered. And I am aware of the nature of the site and its current threads; that's part of why I haven't pushed much more for people to help me get it going. There are some places that aren't so sensitive though: introductions, suggestions, and the lounge. You're also not the only registered member that isn't likely to respond to a lot of the more "sensitive" topics there.

I felt exactly the same way when I was there lurking, but didn't quite know how to put it into words.

It's cool. :) That's one issue I'm having getting it up and going, too - even though there are a number of similar sites that have many members that want to leave them because of the kind of treatment they are getting. Thing is, all of those sites that I've been part of have nice big things specifying you cannot under any circumstances advertise on them - most of them even prohibiting simple text links in signatures...so because I'm too well behaved to ignore their rules and do it any way, I don't have the people who would be most appropriate there to help...and because I don't have any content really - even general discussion topics in the open areas or suggestion threads for the site/forum itself - even the people who are members there have a tendency not to check very often. Similar happened last time it was up when the old owner quit caring and started harassing someone but that's a whole different story.
